30-Minute Hash Browns


Potatoes are one of the most versatile ingredients among dishes, with so many different combinations to it's name. In this recipe I'm going to guide you through a quick recipe for hash browns, a favorite for breakfast!


Cook Time - Preparation: 15 mins, Cook: 15 mins, - Total: 30 minutes

What you will need:

Large Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium russet potatoes, shredded thin

  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 egg

  • oil for frying

  • salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Rinse shredded potatoes good, then drain and squeeze dry. Place potatoes in a bowl, and stir in the onion, flour and egg until evenly distributed.

  2. Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. When oil is hot, insert potatoes into the pan in a 1/2 inch thick layer. Cover the whole bottom of the pan, or make separate piles like pancakes. Cook until nicely browned on the bottom, then flip over and brown on the other side. It should take about 5 minutes per side.

  3. Remove from pan, and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and pepper and serve asap.
