Updated: Jul 8, 2019
If you like a creamy, delicious, and subtly spicy appetizer, then look no further. A popular dish for snacks and appetizers all across the board, it's no surprise that this homemade take on breaded jalapeño peppers puts smiles on our faces. See below!
Cook Time: Prep 30 mins/Cook 15 mins - Total 1 hour
What you will need:
12 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 cup milk
1lb. jalapeño peppers, halved and seeded (If you want it spicier, leave some of the seeds inside!)
2 tbsp bacon
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup italian bread crumbs
8 cups oil for frying
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, Cheddar Cheese, and bacon bits. Spoon the mixture into the jalapeño pepper halves.
Put the milk and flour into two separate small bowls. Dip the stuffed jalapeños into the milk, then into the flour, making sure they are well coated. Allow the coated jalapeños to dry. The process should take about 10-12 minutes.
Dip the jalapeños once more into the milk, and roll them through the breadcrumbs. Allow to dry, then repeat to ensure the entire surface of the jalapeño is coated.
In a medium skillet, heat the oil to 365 degrees F ( 180 degrees C). Deep fry the coated jalapeños 2-3 minutes each, until golden. Remove and let dry on a paper towel.
