Homemade Yogurt - Easier than You Thought!

If you are like me, You love Yogurt! Yogurt has so many health benefits, the list is amazingly long. But it is the fact that it is delicious, that draws most people in. I mean, you can mix it with just about anything. Toss in your favorite fruits, nuts or granola and you have a healthy amazing meal in minutes. Today I am going to show you something that I wish I had know about years ago. Homemade Yogurt that is easier to make then you thought!

Now, before we get into why Yogurt is delicious and all the recipes we can use to create unique dishes, lets talk about the health benefits of Yogurt and Probiotics.

What Are Probiotics?

According to Webmd.....

Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for you, especially your digestive system. We usually think of these as germs that cause diseases. But your body is full of bacteria, both good and bad. Probiotics are often called "good" or "helpful" bacteria because they help keep your gut healthy.

You can find probiotics in supplements and some foods, like yogurt. Doctors often suggest them to help with digestive problems.

How Do They Work?

Researchers are trying to figure out exactly how probiotics work. Some of the ways they may keep you healthy:

When you lose "good" bacteria in your body, for example after you take antibiotics, probiotics can help replace them. They can help balance your "good" and "bad" bacteria to keep your body working the way it should.

For me, this is a big deal, not only have I been living with an Ulcer for over 5 years, but I have severe heartburn, that can leave me sleep deprived and uncomfortable for hours. I have personally found that eating at least one bowl of Yogurt per day, eliminates the need for me to take medication. This is great for me, since I forget more than I remember, leaving me in constant agony.

When I first started on my Probiotic journey, I found it was very expensive to go through a large container of Yogurt a day, especially since the kids jumped in on the Yogurt wagon. The fruit is already expensive and you need to eat it quickly. But it is the yogurt that is the main part of the ingredients and it can go in as little as one breakfast on occasions.

Probiotic Yogurt Maker

Then I found the miracle of all miracles, an amazing device that will turn a gallon of milk into Yogurt overnight. All I had to do was look up recipes and that was not hard to do. I found recipes for vanilla Yogurt, Blueberry Yogurt and even an amazing Pineapple Coconut Yogurt, that I still make to this day.

Just Imagine the amazing taste that a Homemade Yogurt / Probiotic Maker can have on your fresh fruits and nuts.

I have found so many ways to make it now, that i start to compile a Pinterest board just for yogurt bowls and smoothies.
